THE BEGINNING OF A NEW ERA

There was a lot to be achieved by Louis van Gaal in his first season as United manager. United were to face Welsh Side Swansea City in their opening Premier League match at Old Trafford. Well the anticipation was shortened as United suffered their first defeat in a 2-1 loss at home to Swansea, Wayne Rooney grabbing United their first Premier League goal. Next for United was a trip away to Sunderland, United took the lead with a Juan Mata goal which was later followed by a Jack Rodwell equalizer which held United to a 1-1 draw. Still winless and this too turning out to be a nightmare for Louis van Gaal. United with only 1 point from 2 games faced newly promoted side Burnley away from home. Not too much to expect from this game as it finished goaless while Argentine mercurial Angel Di Maria made his debut.
August ended terribly for United as they only obtained 2 points from 3 games.

September: the turnaround?

United hosted Queens Park Rangers at Old Trafford after the international break and were reluctant to bounce back. United ended up with a thumping 4-0 win, goals from debutant Angel Di Maria and Ander Herrera followed by Wayne Rooney and Juan Mata. Next for United was a trip to newly promoted side Leicester City. It was disappoint yet again as United were thrashed 5-3 surrendering a 3-1 lead, goals from Angel Di Maria, Robin van Persie and Ander Herrera. United weren't slick, they lacked leadership at the back.
Septemeber was a month to forget for United as they inly obtained 6 points from 3 games following a 2-0 win against West Ham, van Persie and Rooney scoring.
Will October be a month of improvement for United? Find out soon!
