FRUSTRATING DRAW AGAINST WEST HAM

After their midweek win against Feyenoord, United were to face a West Ham side that was currenty fighting relegation in the league. Boss Jose Mourinho had announced a solid lineup but midweek star players Henrikh Mikhitaryan and Wayne Rooney were dropped o the bench, and Michael Carrick was ruled out due to an ankle sprain meaning Juan Mata was to captain United.
Jones and Rojo were paired at the back, Darmian and Valenica were the fullbacks and David De Gea was back in goal. Lingard and Rashford on the side and Zlatan upfront.
The match in West Ham's favour as they scored by Diafra Sakho thanks to a brilliantly delivered free kick by Dimitri Payet.
United levelled it up 20 minutes later as Zlatan scored with his head thanks to a sublime cross from world record signing Paul Pogba. But after the equalizer the match went downhill, manager Jose Mourinho was sent to the stands for kicking a water bottle and United were denied so many chances thanks to inform keeper Darren Randolph who made terrific saves and kept it 1-1 for West Ham. Henrikh Mikhitaryan came off he bench and hit the post, Rashford was denied a 1on1 chance.
The draw meant United remained at 6th in the league, next for them was a League cup quarterfinal against the same opponent on Wednesday.
