MANCHESTER UNITED 4-0 FEYENOORD

After the draw against Arsenal, United were looking to focus on their next game in the Europa League against Feyenoord at Old Trafford. With 2 wins and 2 defeats so far in their European campaign, United were at 3rd with six points in the group stage, Feyenoord and Fenerbahce both with 7 points.
Jose Mourinho had announced a strong lineup to face Feyenoord, only keeper David De Dea was rested, Sergio Romero came in for his place in goal. The game saw the long lasted return of Armenian Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who was in the starting 11 alongside Wayne Rooney, Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. This was the Armenians first start since the Manchester Derby in the Premier League in September.
United dominated the whole game and had in the league in the 34th minute thanks to a chip shot by skipper Wayne Rooney who then became United's all time European scorer with 39 goals.
United had many chances in the firs half but Feyenoord keeper Brad Jones had denied them the goals, it remained 1-0 till half time.
Meanwhile, Fenerbahce won 2-0 against Ukranian opposition Zorya Luhansk meaning that United needed a win to qualify for the round of 32. Manchester Unted doubled their lead in the second half thanks to Juan Mata who tapped in a beautiful ball from Wayne Rooney. Later, Zlatans shot lead to United's third goal, which was scored off the legs of Feyenoord keeper Brad Jones.
Jesse Lingard came off the bench and onto the score sheet with a sweet curling effort from his left foot. Henrikh Mikhitaryan was named man of the match on his electrifying display. United finished the game with a 4-0 victory and moved onto 2nd in the table, 1 point behind Fenerbahce. Up next for United is another home against West Ham United in the Premier League.
