Manchester United vs Burnley and Fenerbahce defeat

After an emphatic win against City on Wednesday, Manchester United looked to continue there winning form as they hosted newly promoted side Burnley on Saturday at Old Trafford. Manchester United were looking to forget there 4-0 defeat at Chelsea and were to try to get 3 points in the bag. Burnley, on the other hand, came in in good form after winning 2-1 against Everton.
United were without defender Chris Smalling in this match and Valencia who recently undergone an arm surgery and is to be ruled out for atleast a month. So Daley Blind was partnered with Marcos Rojo at the back. Shaw and Darmian were the fullbacks. Paul Pogba and Herrera were the midfield duo. Rashford and Lingard on the wing, Mata at CAM and Zlatan Ibrahimovic the only striker. The match started out well for United as they had 31 shots but failed to score any, Burnley keeper Tom Heaton denied Zlatan Ibrahimovic twice and got Burnley a hard earned draw. Manchester United Spaniard Ander Herrera, got sent off for a second yellow and was to miss United's trip to Swansea next week. The matche ended goalless with both teams earning a point each. Next for United was a trip to Turkey as they faced Fenerbahce in the Europa League.

Fenerbahce vs Manchester United

After disappointment at Burnley, United looked to secure there spot in the round of 32 in the Europa League but they had to go through a strong Fenerbahce side. Despite defeating them 4-1 at Old Trafford, this was a tough away test for the Red Devils. The odds were against United as they conceded in the second minute, Senegalese forward Moussa Sow scored an unbelievable over-head kick which left David De Gea stunned. Fenerbahce later doubled their lead in the second half thanks to a beautifully placed freekick scored by Jermain Lens, David De Gea no where to be seen off. United in the 88th minute scored which turned out nothing but a consolation thanks to a beautiful strike by skipper Wayne Rooney. The match ended in Fenerbahce's favour as they won 2-1. Up next for United was a trip to Liberty stadium where they struggled to get points since David Moyes' era.
