The Pogba and Ibrahimovic show



After a 1-0 at home against Spurs United were looking to build on that winning momentum as they traveled to Crystal Palace in a midweek Premier League game. Crystal Palace recently had drawn 3-3 away to Hull City. United were without the likes of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Luke Shaw, but Bastian Schweistieger had traveled with the United squad for this match. Wayne Rooney captained the United side with Eric Bailly returning from an ankle injury and had started at rightback for United, Blind was the leftback and Jones and Rojo were yet again paired at the back. Herrera and Carrick started in midfield, Rooney, Mata, Pogba and Ibrahimovic upfront.
United dominated the match with many attempts on target, but Palace keeper denied them the goal, in injury time of the first half United took the lead thanks to Paul Pogba who slithered the ball in delivered by Juan Mata, Zlatan got the touch before Pogba put the ball in the back of the net.
Eric Bailly was taken off as he sufferred a "not too serious" injury as said by Mourinho after the match, so Matteo Darmian was brought on. Palace scored the equaliser in the second half thanks to James McArthur. In the 88th minute a Pogba through ball was found by Zlatan who drove the ball in the back of the net with his left foot and gave United the lead. The match ended in United's favour as they won 2-1, 3 points behind Spurs in 5th place. Up for United is a game away at the Hawthorns, will they come home with all three points?
