Manchester United vs Stoke City Preview and Europa League success

Before we discuss about United's game on Sunday against Stoke City, I'd review United's mid-week success against Ukrainian side Zorya Luhansk. After losing their Europa League opener agianst Feyenoord, Manchester United were eager to win against Zorya who had drawn against Fenerbache in their opening match. A lot of changes were made to the squad as Armenian midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan was left out of the squad by Jose Mourinho. Also, David De Gea, Ander Herrera, Daley Blind and Antonio Valencia were rested and Luke Shaw missed the game due to illness. Despite resting such players, United still named a strong line up against Zorya with Zlatan Ibrahimovic starting up front, Marcus Rashford, Paul Pogba, Marouane Fellaini, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard in midfield. Chris Smalling (captain) was paired with Eric Bailly at the back, Marcos Rojo and Timothy Fosu-Mensah were the fullbacks. Argentine goalkeeper Sergio Romero started in goal.
The first half was pretty blund as it remained goalless as United dominated the possession.
But it  looked as if United were going to make a breakthrough and did so.
Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic headed in a misplaced shot by Wayne Rooney and gave United the lead in the 70th minute.
Zlatan celebrating scoring United's opener

The match ended in United's favour as they won 1-0 thanks to the only goal scored by Zlatan Ibrahimovic. United moved up to 3rd in the Europa League table with 4 games to go. Will they qualify for the round of 32?

UNITED VS STOKE CITY PREVIEW

After winning three matches in one week, United were looking to continue the form as they welcome Stoke City on Sunday afternoon. However, Stoke City being win less in the league so far, are anxious to get their first win of the season. How will Mark Hughes manage to do so?
United will be looking for an easy win as boss Jose Mourinho will be using a strong line up as he did in the mid week fixture. But what what further builds up concerns is whether captain Wayne Rooney will start for United or will boss Jose Mourinho use Juan Mata in the number 10 position.
Predicted XI; De Gea Valencia Smalling Bailly Blind Pogba Herrera Mata Rashford Lingard Ibrahimovic.
It seems very unlikely that Wayne Rooney would start due to his struggling form. Is this the end of Wayne Rooney?
Further noting that youngster Axel Tuanzebe and Shaun Williams trained with the United squad today.
Here more for the teams news from us after the boss' press conference and stay tuned for more blog posts!
